The resources have been posted, but the activity section is under construction.

Ancient Egyptians built a very advanced civilization.  Still, the quality of a person's life depended very much on his or her class in society.  As you learn about life in Ancient Egypt, consider the following questions:

  • What were the four classes of Ancient Egyptian Society?
  • What types of jobs/responsibilities did each class have?
  • What were the advantages/disadvantages of belonging to each class?
  • What was life like for girls/boys in Ancient Egypt?

This website tells about the various jobs Egyptians did.  How were these jobs related to the four classes of society?

Spend a day with an Egyptian girl named Soha.  To which of the four classes does her family belong?

Do you think that children were important in ancient Egypt?

Did girls go to school in ancient Egypt?  How did Egyptians choose and learn their professions?

What did Egyptians do in their spare time? Try the board game Senet or Hounds and Jackals.

Task #1  In this assignment, you are going to create a real or Virtual Museum Box.  Create a box with 6 compartments out of cardboard.  Choose a person in a certain class of Egyptian society and create up to 6 objects that would have been part of that person's life.
